About Coach Chandler

Hey, I’m Chandler Downey (but you can call me Coach Chandler). I’ve always been active, playing multiple sports throughout my teens and early twenties. But despite being athletic, I was also a foodie—which meant I carried a little extra weight. Eventually, I realized that if I wanted to look, feel, and perform better, I needed to make a change.

So, I hit the gym, dialed in my nutrition, and focused on strength training. The results? I got leaner, built muscle, and—for the first time—actually saw abs!


After leaving my home state of South Carolina and moving to San Diego, fitness remained part of my daily routine. But I hit a wall. My progress stalled, my workouts felt directionless, and my job left me unfulfilled.

That’s when I discovered barbell strength training.

I saw people making insane progress with just a few simple movements—

squats, presses, hinges, and pulls.

So, I got serious:

✔️ Hired a coach to push my limits

✔️ Applied what I learned—and watched my strength, muscle, and fat loss skyrocket

What started as helping friends and family quickly turned into my career. I landed my first clients, got hired at a gym, and have since trained dozens of men and women.
